How Stratton Stone is Made

When you pick up a piece of Stratton Stone, you're holding something made about an hour down the road — not shipped across the country or overseas. Our stone is manufactured in Hawkinsville, Georgia, and we think that local story matters more than ever.
Stratton Stone is a subsidiary of Cherokee Brick, whose heritage of Georgia craftsmanship stretches back to 1877. That's nearly 150 years of making building products that stand up to Southern heat, humidity, and storms. When we developed our stone collections, that legacy set the bar.
Here's what goes into each piece. Every profile in our Mountain Stack, Mountain Ledge, and Cobblestone collections starts with extensive prototyping — we cast, evaluate, and refine before anything goes into production. Color isn't painted on as an afterthought; it's developed and tested so it lasts, because a stone that fades in five years isn't worth installing.
We're deliberately a small-scale production facility, and that's a feature, not a limitation. Smaller runs mean superior attention to detail and real quality control — each piece is checked against standards that meet and exceed today's building codes. When something isn't right, it doesn't ship. Period.
Buying local has practical perks for you, too. Shorter shipping means less freight cost and less breakage. Questions get answered by people who know the product because they make it. And the colors in our palette — Mock Springs, Belfast Gray, Limestone Creek — were developed with Southern architecture and landscapes in mind, not a generic national market.
We believe stone should elevate design and last for generations. If you'd like to see how it's made, come visit us in Hawkinsville. We're proud of what happens here, and we'd love to show you.
